"I love to worship God"
- Minister Adebukola
Profile
Adebukola Akinkunmi hails from Ibadan, Nigeria. On March 23, 2014, she gave her life to Christ—a defining moment that marked the beginning of a supernatural journey. Immediately following her new birth, she began serving in the church choir, a ministry she continues to cherish deeply. Reflecting on this season, she says,“I love to worship God.”
Not long afterward, by God’s mercy and divine favor, she traveled to the United States of America to further her education. Upon her arrival, the Lord visited her through several profound encounters—moments that would define the next decades of her life. Among these was the conviction that she would be called into full-time ministry. During this season, she received songs such as“Aye Nla,” “Igba Otun,” and others that would later form part of her musical foundation.
Over the next decade, she pursued academic excellence, earning advanced degrees and professional credentials while serving in the choir ministry. These years became formative—a season in which the Lord continued to mold her character, deepen her faith, and prepare her for His purpose. Adebukola firmly believes that believers are called to become well-rounded individuals—growing in faith that works by love, continuously refined in character, and committed to the pursuit of knowledge and excellence. This conviction inspired her to intentionally pursue growth in every area of life while waiting for the Lord to make the vision plain.
Then came April 2, 2025;
“A Dramatic Encounter of a Lifetime”
a date she describes as “a dramatic encounter of a lifetime.” “It was like a church service. The Holy Ghost met with me, stretched out His rod upon my mouth, and rained blessings upon me with such passion. I was surprised that His first prayer centered on my stewardship in the choir, even though I had assumed the visitation was primarily about the education ministry, which I also love deeply. By the end, I felt as though I had gone through an ordination service. He even sang a hymn after the blessings. I was drenched in tears. Then, in my local dialect, He said, ‘Arise, wipe your tears; your struggles are over, your tears are over, your pains are over.’ Finally, before leaving, He said, ‘Join the choir.’ That was the day I encountered an Overflowing River—one that has never stopped flowing.’
From that day, the Lord brought divine order to her life and unveiled the vision He had been preparing her for all along.
Shortly afterward, during a night of Kingdom advancement prayers,the Lord spoke: “It is time to start recording.” Reflecting on the journey, she says, “Ten years ago, I would never have imagined this.”
Her first music releases—recorded in Lagos, Nigeria—include eight songs:
Each song carries a testimony, a revelation, and an impartation, intended to minister unto God and bless His people.
Adebukola is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is joyfully married and resides in New York, USA, with her husband and children.
Her journey stands as a living testimony to the mercy and faithfulness of God—proof that when we write the vision, trust His timing, and patiently wait upon Him, it shall surely come to pass at its appointed time.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6
